We believe in One God. Manifested in the triune of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three spiritual beings united as one in divine love for eternity (Romans 8: 1-17; Ephesians 1: 3-14).
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. We are confident God inspired the individuals that wrote each book of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. When we need direction in life, are confronted with temptations, or need a source to bring hope, we turn to the Bible. The Bible is our guide for everyday living. We are committed to the continual study of God’s word, to see how we can most closely give God the personal and collective worship He desires.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God That he came to earth as part of God’s plan for our salvation, lived a sinless life, suffered death on the cross, was raised from the dead to again be with God in power and glory and establish his church with the power of the Holy Spirit working through the apostles (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 1:18-23; 1 Peter 2:22).
We believe that salvation is a free gift from God through his grace given to those who believe in the power and person of Jesus Christ (John 3:16). In Scripture, we find that believers must repent, or change their way of living that is against Jesus (Acts 2:37-38) and be willing to confess to others that we are his (Romans 10:9-10). God, through the New Testament, also directs us to be immersed, or baptized, into Christ (Romans 6:3-11). At which point we become a part of Christ’s body.
We believe we are the body of Christ We believe that the church is made up of God’s people on earth. Jesus is our head, and we are his body (Galatians 5:23).
We believe that God is Love At the core of God’s teaching is that “God is Love” 1 John 4:8 & 16). Jesus teaches that the first and greatest commandment is to love God with all of your heart soul and mind and that the second is to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-39) God’s love for us is demonstrated in Jesus Christ and the sacrifice that he made for us (John 3:16). Our love for God is shown by our lives reflecting these two great commandments. We love because he first loved us (1 John 4:19).
We believe that Jesus will come back Jesus will return in his heavenly glory, at a time only known by the father, to judge the living and the dead, and the Lord will separate the righteous from the unrighteous. The unrighteous will go away to eternal punishment but the righteous to eternal life (Matthew 24:36; 25: 31-46; Acts 10:42).
Worship
Following the New testament example, it is our practice to meet on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7), to partake of the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:24) and to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) through a cappella singing (Ephesians 5:19) prayer (Acts 2:42) Bible Study (Acts 2:42) and the grace of giving ( 1 Corinthians 16:2).
